Responsibilities

 Summary

We are looking for a [Senior] Tax Director (title commensurate with experience) who is a clear communicator, self-motivated, driven and who wants the opportunity to make their voice heard across the organization! The successful candidate will manage the hybrid tax function by planning, organizing, and coordinating all aspects of tax compliance, accounting and reporting, including reviewing reconciliations, maintaining effective tax controls and liaising with the tax audit team. This position will also coordinate with our third-party tax service provider to research complex tax matters and provide guidance to management. This position will collaborate with Finance leadership, members of the finance and accounting teams, management across the organization, and our third-party service provider(s).

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the hybrid tax function (internal staff and third-party service provider(s)).
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company’s financial position.
  • Oversee tax compliance, including various tax filings.
  • Lead tax planning initiatives to minimize liabilities and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Manage relationships with auditors and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely tax accounting and reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC and STAT.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in tax legislation, providing guidance to executive leadership.
  • Assess tax implications of business decisions, including mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions.
  • Implement and maintain tax technology solutions to improve efficiency and compliance.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with tax and accounting technology, experience with IAS, Blackline, Clearwater and Workiva a plus.

Qualifications, Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation required.
  • 10+ years of experience in corporate tax, with at least 5 years in a leadership role required.
  • Experience working for a publicly traded company preferred.
  • Expertise in federal and state tax regulations required, experience with international tax regulations a plus.
  • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting, SEC reporting and STAT accounting and reporting.

Compensation & Benefits

 

The applicable base salary for this opportunity is $150,000 - $200,000.  The base pay offered will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements.  In addition to the base salary, this opportunity may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
