Responsibilities

Capacity & Workflow Management

  • Maintain a unified, real-time view of capacity across engineering, BI, and data science functional groups.
  • Track and monitor work in progress to optimize resource utilization and prevent overcommitment.
  • Coordinate planning, backlog grooming, and quarterly roadmap updates in collaboration with team leads.
  • Maintain an enterprise view of priorities 

Intake & Triage

  • Manage centralized intake of data-related work (e.g., dashboards, pipelines, models, reports).
  • Lead triage processes to clarify scope, route requests to the correct teams, and ensure completeness of requirements.
  • Drive transparency in prioritization criteria, SLAs, and escalation paths.

Cross-Team Coordination

  • Facilitate working sessions across functional groups to reduce bottlenecks, clarify handoffs, and align timelines.
  • Ensure alignment on tooling, documentation standards, and delivery practices across technical teams.
  • Serve as the connective tissue that ensures consistency across different workstreams, especially when initiatives cut across multiple disciplines.

Operational Oversight

  • Maintain and refine the system of record (e.g., Azure DevOps, JIRA, or equivalent) for tracking data team work.
  • Support the documentation and evolution of intake workflows, service catalogs, and prioritization rubrics.
  • Monitor key metrics such as backlog growth, throughput, and lead time to identify areas for process improvement.

Testing & Defect Tracking

  • Coordinate with engineering and QA teams to ensure robust testing and defect management practices are followed.
  • Track defects and data issues through resolution, working across functional groups to ensure accountability and closure.
  • Monitor patterns in defects and drive initiatives to reduce root cause recurrence.
  • Maintain visibility into testing coverage, staging/deployment readiness, and release timelines for all major deliverables.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in program/project management within a data-heavy or technical environment.
  • Familiarity with workflows in data engineering, BI, and data science.
  • Hands-on experience managing work intake, capacity planning, or triage in a fast-moving technical team.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience managing work in systems like Azure DevOps, and SDP.
  • Experience in an insurance, financial services, or regulated industry context.

Compensation & Benefits

 

The applicable base salary for this opportunity is $120,000 - $140,000.  The base pay offered will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements.  In addition to the base salary, this opportunity may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
