This internship will be in our Accident & Health Underwriting team. The successful intern will gain hands-on experience in the pre-underwriting process, focusing on risk assessment and preliminary analysis of new business and renewal business. They will work closely with our team to understand key aspects of medical stop loss underwriting, the initial RFP submission acceptance, including evaluating client data, processes of our internal systems, and how a submission flows through each entity of our department from initial RFP to paying claims.  This will be accomplished through scheduled interactions with underwriters, analysts, and senior team members to understand workflows and best practices. Interns will also collaborate with our underwriting support staff and gain insight into report preparation and processing. This experience will provide a strong foundation in Pre-Underwriting processes, preparing them for more advanced roles within the insurance industry.

Additional details on our program:

• The program will be 10 weeks long, from 5/26/25-8/1/25.  
• The program will be on a Hybrid schedule with 2-3 Days per week in the Kennesaw office.  
• The schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, during standard business hours.  We will also schedule a few after hours events to promote networking and camaraderie, as circumstances allow.
• You will have an assigned mentor who will guide your project(s) and your experience with Skyward for the summer.
• The summer will end with presentations by the interns to members of the company leadership team, as well as the other interns, to summarize their project(s) and learnings.

• Degree program in Risk Management, Insurance, Finance, Business, or similar.
• Students must be actively enrolled and on schedule to graduate after the fall semester of 2025 or the spring semester of 2026
• Cumulative GPA must be 3.0 or higher
• Students must have access to lodging in the internship location without company assistance
• Students must be permanently authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
