Responsibilities

(Hybrid schedule with an average of 2-3 days per week in our Houston offices)

 

Our dynamic company is growing rapidly and has a very compelling story to tell. We are seeking a Marketing and Communications Specialist with excellent skills in strategic planning, content creation, digital marketing, and public relations. This role requires a creative thinker with strong project management abilities and an in-depth understanding of the latest marketing trends and technologies.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Marketing Strategies: Craft and execute comprehensive marketing plans to enhance brand visibility and achieve business goals.
  • Content Creation: Produce high-quality content and graphics for various platforms, including blogs, social media, websites, newsletters, and press releases.
  • Digital Marketing: Manage digital campaigns, SEO/SEM strategies, email marketing, and social media initiatives to drive audience engagement and growth.
  • Brand Management: Maintain consistent brand messaging and uphold brand standards across all marketing and communications efforts.
  • Market Research: Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape to inform marketing strategies.
  • Event Planning: Coordinate and manage marketing events, trade shows, webinars, and other promotional activities, such as annual WSIA conference, broker events
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns using analytics tools, refining strategies as needed for continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, product development, businesss leaders, and information technology, to align marketing strategies with business objectives.
  • Public Relations: Support and nurture relationships with media outlets, influencers, and other stakeholders to enhance public perception and media presence.
  • Internal Communications: Support effective communication efforts between internal stakeholders related to employee relations and community outreach, as needed.
  • Other marketing/communications responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in a corporate communications department
  • 3-5 years of experience developing marketing materials
  • Content writing experience across various media platforms and audiences
  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience required
  • Insurance industry and/or technology industry experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Exceptional writing skills and familiar with drafting copy for email and digital content
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment making quick decisions
  • Superior time management and organizational skills with ability to balance and meet several deadlines
  • Proficient in AP Style
  • Ability to develop a program independently without much oversight
  • Outcome focused, self-motivated, dependable flexible and enthusiastic
  • Basic knowledge of CRM tools, such as HubSpot
  • Solid customer service and relationship building skills
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office; capable of creating visually compelling collateral
